A Review of the Autumn Term in Creedy Class
In science this term we have been looking at plants and seasons, which has been supported extremely well by our outdoor learning lessons. We enjoyed seeing the colours of autumn turning into winter, and how this effected the plants around our school’s outdoor learning environment.
To help support our learning on the Great Fire of London, we had a visit from the storytellers Geoff and Charlie. They gave us lots of information about the fire, and we were able to join in with telling the story too. Leading on from this we then started learning about fire safety, which was supported by a fantastic trip to Crediton Fire Station - one of the highlights of our term. It was exciting to see all of the fire engines and squirt water from the hose pipes. We also learnt a lot about how to stay safe.
Maths has been a very busy subject this term. We have looked at so many different aspects of mathematics, all revolving around our numbers to 100. Addition, subtraction, times tables and place value are just some of the things we have covered. With Mrs. Powell we have also been looking at 2D and 3D shapes, and where we can find them in and around our school.
To finish off a busy first term in Year 1, we performed our Nativity play to all of Key Stage Two, and lots of parents. We really enjoyed practising the songs and learning our lines ready for the big performance.
