We want our children to have good attendance because we know that progress suffers if attendance is poor and because habits set in primary school often continue later into education. Attendance levels are monitored by the school and Devon County Council through our Education Welfare Officer.

If your child is too unwell to be at school, please phone the office early in the morning (before 8:45am) to let us know. If you are unable to ring then a member of staff will contact you to ensure your child is safe.

In cases of sickness and diarrhoea, your child must stay away from school for 48 hours after the last incident. The School Office can provide guidance about return times for other infectious illnesses.

We are unable to authorise absence for term-time holidays other than in exceptional circumstances.

Authorised Absences

All requests for authorised absences, such as medial appointments, should be made via the S2 form available outside the School Office.
