Safeguarding and Pastoral Care

At Sandford School we take our responsibility to safeguard our pupils very seriously and are committed to working with our families and children to safeguard the well being of all of our children.

Our Designated Safeguarding Leads are:

John Jolliffe- Exe Valley Federation Executive Headteacher

James Akhurst - Acting Headteacher

Charlotte Tofts – SENDCo

At Sandford School we have very clear systems in place to share concerns regarding children’s welfare with our Designated Safeguarding Leads, with parents and with relevant external agencies. We follow Devon’s Child Protection Procedures and the local Safeguarding Children’s Board local guidance.

Part of our legal duty to safeguard our children may involve us consulting with and taking advice from the Mulit Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) or the Police.

By working closely together as staff, parents and external agencies we can offer the safest environment for our children. We are able to access a range of support and advice for families and encourage you to come and talk to us if you think this may be of help to you.

If you have concerns regarding the welfare of any of our children you should speak to one of our DSLs above. If you would prefer to speak to someone outside of school or you have a concern outside of term time you can contact the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) on 0345 1551071.

The following documents and links underpin our commitment and approach to safeguarding. Our safeguarding policy can be found on our Policies tab:
