We are very lucky to have a School Library which offers Key Stage 2 children a wide, varied and challenging set of fact and fiction books. Our library is a valuable resource and we want to ensure it offers the best service for both teaching staff and children. Reading develops vocabulary, spelling, confidence in story writing and poetry as well as being fun!
Opening Times - The Library opens in the mornings from when the blinds go up (approximately 8.45am) and we’re there until the end of the day, but no changing books at lunchtime please as the area is unsupervised.
Display Boards - We have boards in the Library displaying current theme topics, it will be Fairytales for the Autumn term. There is also the ‘Reading Tree’ display on one of the feature walls. We are aiming to build up a ‘book review’ resource compiled by the children and staff at School. We want to create an inspiring display that encourages children to read and explore books they might not have otherwise chosen, based on feedback from their peers. After half term we will create a ‘Remembrance Display’, if your child or family have a story they would like to share, please tell us about it.
Librarians – We have a fantastic team of Librarians made up of Year 5 and 6 children, they keep the shelves tidy, sort returned books, help their peers choose new novels and assist with displays.
Contact us – if you have any questions about the Library, please ask Miss Wood, Mrs Bradford or any of the pupil Librarians – we will be wearing our Library badges to make us more visible.
