Monday 18th January 2021
Hope you are well and happy. It's really strange for me staying at home everyday and having to self-isolate. Not being able to go out for a daily walk has made me really appreciate the outdoors. I have found the time to sort out lots of resources and ideas for the next few weeks.
Exciting news this week! We are very close to having eSchools, which means we'll be able to be in touch lots with messages, zoom calls and fun things alongside your other home learning. Some time this week you will get your Log-ins. I have been able to go in and have a play around and have it almost set up ready for you to all engage in!
You will need to go to the Oak National Academy (www.thenational.academy), choose Y3 or Y2. If you'd like to practice previous learning then choose the previous year group. Also, BBC have begun lessons on TV each morning.
Using White Rose Maths (https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/) Follow the website through to Year 3 or 2. You will find 5 lessons based around Multiplication and Division.
Our mini-topic during the afternoons this week is 'Circus'. I have thought of a selection of activities for you to choose from to complete at home. I would like you all to have a go at five of these activities and share your work by sending it to me through our class email address: Yeo@sandford-school.devon.sch.uk or by using eSchools (when you have your login!)
SUGGESTED daily outline for home learning:
Begin day with some form of exercise
Mental maths or TT Rockstars
Maths from White Rose
Break - try to get out for some fresh air
English from Oak Academy
Lunch - try to get out for some fresh air
Afternoons - Topic activities - choose five from the suggestions, completing one per afternoon.
Try to have some 'no screen time' during the day.
Remember to talk to someone about your feelings and share with them what your day has been like.
Read before you go to bed, it's a nice way to switch off and relax.
Stay safe, keep smiling!
